Most power manifests unexpectedly, at least the first time. I imagine you've had some opportunity to be more purposeful with it since.

Oh yeah, I got really good at it repeatedly compelling my mom to forget I'm a vampire. But she's over it now!

I was compelling her to forget but then my stupid ex boyfriend Matt found out (because I SAVED HIS LIFE) and he told her and they both took vervain which is this herb that messes with my compulsion and then pretended to be compelled so I wouldn't find out

But then my dad tortured me and my mom remembered I'm her daughter first and a vampire only incidentally.

It is difficult for loved ones to understand that things will be different after the turning. They will grow old and you will remain unchanging by the passage of time. Your mother cares for you as her daughter, but there will be confusion for her, perhaps even resentment.

Louis has been helping me a little too. I have a lot more here than I have at home actually.

[ no part of that surprises lestat to hear, though he wonders, with a brief pause of consideration, whether louis had been drawn to caroline for the same reason he had — the chance to make amends for so many errors made with their daughter. ]

Tony Stark. He's nice to me. He's like my mom's age so sometimes I can FEEL him rolling his eyes at me but I stole him one of the espresso machines from the kitchen so he has to love me now.
