I would not have given him our dark gift if he hadn't asked me for it.

How does it work?

For us, we drink until our intended is nearly at the point of death, and then we offer our blood to them in exchange.

Can your blood heal people?

Not in any great sense, beyond providing the gift itself.

But then if you die with vampire blood in your system you become a vampire so it's kind of a crapshoot sometimes.

We got into a car accident and it was really bad, I almost died, maybe was dying. Then suddenly I was healing and they were going to release me from the hospital and before I could leave alive Katherine smothered me with a pillow.

Was she aware of the vampire's blood that coursed through you at the time?

And she still callously abandoned you.
